Geek Out at the Santa Clara City Library Comic Con!

Channel your inner geek at the Library’s fourth annual event with panels on cosplay creation, story times with your favorite characters like Thor and Bat Girl, and lightsaber trainings

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Whether you’re a fan of comics, cosplay, anime, Star Wars or all the above, you’ll find your place at the fourth annual Santa Clara City Library Comic Con! The free event will take place Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Central Park Library, 2635 Homestead Rd.

“From Cosplay contests to Harry Potter-themed trivia, the Santa Clara City Library Comic Con is open to all those who celebrate geek culture,” said Hilary Keith, City Librarian. “Events like Comic Con provide a place for community members to celebrate, collaborate and connect with Bay Area artists, educators, creators, vendors, makers and authors.”

Comic Con is a full day celebration of pop culture. Get crafty with geeky favorites for all ages like an Infinity Gauntlet bracelet, a Groot planter, and Harry Potter Felt ties. For the past several years, graphic novels have been exploding in popularity and are proven to be a way to encourage creativity and literacy among fans of all ages.

Scheduled activities include a panel with author and artist Dana Simpson, a conversational panel with cosplayer and creator VampyBitMe, character story times, crafts, saber training, cosplay contests and more.
