Teen Library Council
The Santa Clara City Library's Teen Library Council was created in 1998 to help the Library better serve teens. Students who live in Santa Clara County and are in grades 7-12 may apply for the TLC. TLC is active in planning and participating in summer reading challenges and year-round programs. Teen Library Council members volunteer at special events, assist at children’s programs and help with other tasks as needed. Currently, the TLC is on recess, date TBD. Please keep checking the library’s website for more details.
Summer (June—mid-August) volunteering is available for teens in grades 9-12. Shifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Teens must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours over the summer. Summer volunteers staff the summer reading booth in the library, help with children’s programs and perform other tasks as needed. Online applications go live on the library’s website in May, 2020. Students are encouraged to keep checking the library’s website for more information.
