ESL Programs

ESL Book Club

1st & 3rd Fridays, 10:30 am - 12 pm, Central Park Library

The ESL Book Club is a fun opportunity to practice your English reading, speaking, and listening skills. Join us to discuss award-winning novels and classic American/English books and meet new people.

ESL Conversation Club

Wednesdays, 10:30 am - 12 pm Noon, Redwood Room, Central Park Library

Enhance your English conversation skills in a friendly and comfortable environment. Space is limited - first come, first served. 

ESL Family Night

Every second Thursday of each Month, 6:30 – 8 pm, Margie Edinger Room,Central Park Library

This program welcomes all ESL learners - working people, singles, parents or caregivers and enables people to attend the conversation with their children. We will put out toys and crafts for the children while the adults chat with volunteer tutors. Refreshments will be served.

 ESL Online Sources 

Mango Languages 

Learn to speak a language via the Web. You can learn English as a Second Language, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Spanish with Mango Languages. The latest version of Adobe Flash Player is required. Mango Languages replaces Rosetta Stone Online, which no longer is sold to libraries. 

Learning Express Library 

Learning Express Library (formerly LearnATest) is a collection of online practice exams and test preparation material. Among the exams available are the G.E.D., S.A.T., C.B.E.S.T., G.R.E., Police Officer, Postal Worker, and U.S. Citizenship.

Pathway to Citizenship

The road to U.S. citizenship can be overwhelming.  A helpful start can be of great assistance. 

Live one-to-one homework help daily, 12 noon – 12 midnight, Pacific Time. Tutors help with test preparation, essay writing assistance and job hunting and resume writing help.
