Research on early childhood development – physical, emotional and intellectual – provides us with a wealth of techniques to raise happy, successful children.

Early Years Are Learning Years™ from the National Association for the Education of Young Children focuses attention on the importance of the early years for children's learning and all aspects of development. Short articles on topics such as play and learning, discipline, and health and safety are designed for parents and other adults involved with children on a daily basis.

The Early Learning Education department of KQED, the Public Broadcasting station in San Francisco and San Jose, offers free workshops for early childhood educators. Find out what is currently being offered on their KQED Education page.

The National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education has created an “A-Z Child Care Information Links for Parents and Childcare Providers” That will answer your questions on many, many topics – from allergies to cleaning & sanitizing to sun safety.

Zero to Three provides resources for both parents and professionals. Its goal is the healthy development of infants and toddlers. The site covers the spectrum of topics related to healthy
early child development – including social/emotional & early language development, and temperament & behavior.

The Healthy Habits for Life Resource Kit from the Nemours Foundation gives childcare providers guidance on establishing healthy lifestyle habits for the children they care for. The focus of this information is on incorporating healthy physical activity and nutrition habits into your daily routine.
